Xu Kai Admits He Had a Hair Transplant

While promoting their new drama “Wonderland of Love,” Xu Kai (許凱) and Jing Tian (景甜) discussed the often-overlooked downsides of historical costumes. Despite critical acclaim for its strong script, historical dramas frequently require actors to wear wigs and heavy headgear, which can lead to hair loss and scalp problems.

“Wonderland of Love” stars Xu Kai as Li Ni, a carefree emperor’s grandson who becomes entangled with the cunning military strategist Cui Lin, played by Jing Tian. The drama follows their rivalry and blossoming romance.

During promotions, both actors opened up about the challenges of filming historical dramas. Jing Tian described the emotional intensity of portraying a character navigating love and hatred. Xu Kai, however, revealed a more personal struggle.

“Filming historical dramas can be tough,” Xu Kai admitted. “We film multiple scenes in a single day, switching between intense emotions. But a bigger concern for me is hair loss.”
