The romantic drama Only for Love <以愛為營> starring Bai Lu (白鹿) and Dylan Wang (王鶴棣) has ended, but the finale surprisingly did not appear on the trending search list. Instead, many netizens complained that the finale turned the lead characters’ wedding into a gimmick.
Only For Love has garnered a lot of attention for its A-list cast since filming began. However, when the series finally aired, it only received a 4.5 rating on Douban. Many netizens criticized director Guo Hu’s awkward camera angles and the cliché plotline in which a financial reporter character (played by Bai Lu) falls in love with a CEO (played by Dylan). Netizens criticized the ugly plot and claimed that it was unwatchable.
The finale, which had a sweet and romantic ending, started with Zheng Shuyi (Bai Lu) losing a promotion due to his young age.
