In an interview with Sports Chosun, Kim Hye Yoon discussed the series’ ending and addressed the recent backlash.

“I was surprised. This incident made me realize once again how popular the series has become. Nothing like this has ever happened before. I felt a little unfair because I was doing my best, but no one was looking for me. I have not rejected any offer. I even joked that if they invite me first, I will even attend the company dinners,” she said.

Kim Hye Yoon also shared her approach to selecting roles: “I don’t have a clear standard, but for now, I’m choosing roles where I feel I can show different sides of me. Another romantic comedy offer wouldn’t be a problem, but there are other genres I want to explore. In ‘Lovely Runner,’ my character had a job. As long as it was a character with a profession, I would like to play a role with a real job, whether as a boss or an assistant.”

“The best compliment I received was ‘Im Sol wouldn’t exist without Kim Hye Yoon.’ This is something I have desired since I was young. I didn’t want to be ‘number one’ but I wanted to be ‘the one’. Seeing such comments made me feel good and proud,” she admitted. “Since I was in my late 20s, I thought it would be nice to become a more mature and deep person, both as an actor and as a person, thanks to this work. I think this was Kim Hye Yoon’s self-improving work, and I learned a lot from seeing her determination to overcome difficulties. This message in my work touched me with hope.”
