Bai Lu Falls in Love with Ao Ruipeng’s Demon in “Chasing the Moon”
The filming of “Chasing the Moon”, a drama adaptation of Xing Ling’s novel “Bai Shuo Shang Shen”, has officially begun! The story follows the cultivation journey of the female protagonist, Bai Shuo, the Goddess of Stars and Moon who reincarnates as the youngest daughter of a general. She embarks on a path to immortality to repay a debt of gratitude. Meanwhile, the series also depicts the love-hate relationship between Bai Shuo and her romantic interest, the demon Fan Yue.
Written by the author behind well-known dramas like “Ancient Love Poetry” and “The Last Immortal”, the characters may look familiar to some viewers. The drama stars Bai Lu and Ao Ruipeng, who were both seen smiling at the opening ceremony this week. Earlier this year, the 29-year-old actress achieved great success with her role as the heroine who falls in love with a “demon” in “Till the End of the Moon”. Her co-star Ao Ruipeng has transitioned from a supporting role in the critically acclaimed “Youth Blood” to the male lead in “Wrong Car, Right Groom”. It seems like he’s still waiting for a big breakout, and what better opportunity than a xianxia?
Visually, the two look great together and they won’t have any trouble gaining new fans for their CP. But can we also take a moment to appreciate how beautiful Bai Lu looks with her curly hair and soft makeup? When you look at the white deer on the drama’s poster and the little hair “antlers” it sports if you look close enough, how fitting is it that Bai Lu, whose name literally means “white deer”, is the one who brings the character to life?
