Yoon Sa Bong and Jung Yong Ju Join the Cast of “Knight Flower”

Exciting news for K-drama fans! Yoon Sa Bong and Jung Yong Ju have been confirmed to star alongside Lee Ha No in the much-anticipated MBC Friday-Saturday series, “Knight Flower.” This announcement was made on January 11, marking a significant addition to the drama’s stellar cast.

For Yoon Sa Bong, “Knight Flower” represents her first K-drama appearance in 2024, following a busy year with notable roles in “Arthdal Chronicles: The Sword of Aramun,” “Mask Girl,” and “Moving.” This series also marks her much-awaited return to the historical genre after nearly three years. Yoon Sa Bong is celebrated for her versatile performances in popular series like “Trolley,” “Forecasting Love and Weather,” “Lovers of the Red Sky,” and “Hi Bye, Mama!”

Similarly, for the rising star Jung Yong Ju, “Knight Flower” will be his inaugural K-drama of the year. He gained significant attention in 2021 and has since been part of successful projects such as “Death’s Game,” “The Deal,” and “Twinkling Watermelon.” His rapid rise in the Korean entertainment industry began with his debut in 2021, appearing in acclaimed dramas “Insider,” “Twenty-Five Twenty-One,” and “The Empire.”

“Knight Flower” is set to feature a compelling narrative centered around Cho Yeo Hwa, a widow who has been living a quiet life for 15 years. However, her nights are far from ordinary; she transforms into a knightly figure who assists those in need. Her life takes a dramatic turn when she meets Park Soo Ho, and together, they begin to envision a future filled with hope.

The series boasts an impressive directorial team, with Jang Tae Yoo (“Hyena” and “My Love from the Star”) and Choi Jung In (“On the Verge of Insanity”) at the helm, promising a blend of thrilling action and heartfelt drama.

In “Knight Flower,” Yoon Sa Bong will portray Jang So Woon, the acting chief of a 200-year-old traditional flower troupe. By night, she becomes one of Cho Yeo Hwa’s key allies. On the other hand, Jung Yong Ju will take on the role of Bi Chan, a military officer and the dependable yet occasionally irritable right-hand man to Park Soo Ho.

Mark your calendars! “Knight Flower” is set to premiere on January 12, as part of MBC’s Friday and Saturday K-drama lineup.
